“Obituary

Elizabeth Shook was born in Berks co. Ohio. April 1, 1813. Was united in marriage, February 12, 1829 to James Viers. This marriage was blessed with 19 children, 3 of whom have preceded her to the spirit land. They immigrated to Warren County, Iowa. December 19, 1849 where she has since resided. Her husband James Viers departed this life January 7, 1863, she having remained a window 34 years. She united with the Church of Christ in about the year of 1840 in Akron, Ohio, and has since lived a consistent Christian life. She died August 12 1897 at 6 a.m. after 5 months of suffering at the advance age of 84 years, 4 months and 3 days. She endured her suffering with marked patience’s only those who have put their in Jesus and are able to say: “Thy will not mine be done O Lord can manifest” There were born unto her 117 grand children and 119 great grand children. She leaves 16 children, 7 sons and 9 daughters, one brother together with multitudes of friends who mourn her departure, but they mourn not as those who have no hopes. Funeral services were held in the Christian church at Swan amid a concourse of friends and relatives. Conducted by. F. E. Blanchard.

     Anna Shook was born on 3 November 1819.² She was the daughter of Michael Shook and Eva Ann Falor.¹ Anna Shook married Daniel Viers, son of Bazel Viers and Ann Dixon, on 31 December 1835.²

     David Shook is the son of John Shook III and Barbara Ohl.¹

     Jacob Shook was born in 1816 at OH, USA.² He was the son of Michael Shook and Eva Ann Falor.¹ Jacob Shook married Catherine Willey, daughter of David Willey and Rosanah Bishop, on 26 November 1835 at Portage County, OH, USA.^3,2
