Emerson Claude Falor, son of Hiram Silas Falor and Bertha E. Falor, now Agard, was born December 23 1856, in Akron, Ohio.
In 1880, he enlisted in the United States Army in the 10 Infantry at Cleveland, Ohio, and was honorably discharged in 1891 at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, because of his failing health. The remark on his discharge papers gave his character as “excellent”.
In 1890 he was married to Mrs. Barbara Kress. This union was bless with one child, Hiram C. Falor. Mrs. Falor died in 1894. In 1902 Mr. Falor was married again to Mrs. Mary A. Haring who died in 1915. Mr. Falor lived in Ohio most of his lifetime with the exception of the time spent in the United States Army.
In 1938 he came to Seguin and made his home with his only son, Hiram and his family. Mr. Falor was a member of the Presbyterian Church and enjoyed fairly good health until about a week ago. He passed to his reward Thursday, October 24, 1940, at the age of 83 years, 10 months and 1 day.
He leaves to mourn his departure; his only son, Hiram and his wife, Marie; 4 grand-children, Andrew E. of Seguin who is a member of the Texas National Guard Company K-124, Burnie H., Allan C. and Dubel F. all of Seguin; 2 grand-daughters, Barbara, Mrs. Alfred Helmke of Seguin and Jannie Mae of Seguin: 1 sister, Minnie Florence now Mrs. Elmer C. Elsworth of Coventry, Ohio; 1 niece, Mrs. Anderson of Ravanswood, Ind.
The funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday morning, October 26 from the Goetz Funeral Home in Seguin with the Rev. E.F. Schmemler, officiating. Mr. Falor was accorded military honors by the local National Guard unit, Cavalry Troop K-124. Interment was made in the Evangelical Cemetery south of Seguin, Texas.

Take Land Ranch Road to the top of the hill then take dirt trail about 300 yards the cemetery is on the left. Janie said that Dad (Hiram Claude) told her that Emerson wanted to be buried there so he would be next to his first wife. Notes by Duehl Falor.1
